Tesla's Model 3 Topped The List Of Electric Cars Sold in Europe in 2021

Tesla's Model 3 became the best-selling electric car in Europe in 2021, foreign media reported. Amid semiconductor shortages and COVID-19 lockdown, electric vehicles are a bright spot in the industry.

In electric cars, the Tesla Model 3 pushed Renault's Zoe out of the top spot. The Tesla Model 3 also rose from 41st place in 2020 to 17th place in the overall ranking of best-selling cars in Europe in 2021, according to analytics firm JATO Dynamics, and overtook some of the most popular models, such as the Volkswagen Tiguan and Peugeot 3008 SUV.

In September, the Tesla Model 3 was briefly the best-selling car in Europe, beating out the Volkswagen Golf and other common internal-combustion bestsellers and the first time an electric car overtook an internal-combustion engine as Europe's best-selling car.
